I am a member of the Australian Psychological Society as well as the Fertility Society of Australia.
My experience includes having spent time working in the Employment Services and Employee Assistance Program fields, where I worked with clients to address challenges that affected either their work or home life including conflict, family violence, anxiety and depression. I also provided career counselling and planning.
I have also spent time working in a fertility clinic, where I assisted couples and individuals to address a wide variety of fertility related challenges including stress management, relationship difficulties as well as grief and loss.
As well as my private practice, I currently work within the public system in Community Health. Working in the public system has meant that I have developed my skills in working with a wide variety of client presentations, and have current knowledge of frameworks and accepted approaches in areas such as Family Violence. Qualifications
I have completed a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Psychology) and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) at Swinburne University and a Master of Counselling Psychology at La Trobe University. I have also undertaken Professional Development training in the areas of trauma, substance use and Borderline Personality Disorder. After completing a two year registrar program I am also endorsed as a Counselling Psychologist. Counselling Psychology emphasises the importance of considering factors that contribute to mental health including the influence of culture and family on the individual, recognising the importance of attending to relationship dynamics, tailoring therapeutic interventions to the individual, and developing the therapeutic relationship with the client.
